Hello and welcome to my page dedicated to this project car.

So, I have started with a bare shell of a 1974 MG Midget.  I picked up a wrecked 1994 Mazda Miata to use parts off of.  I plan to make this car a street/track car.

I originally restored an MG Midget with my father when I was in high school.  I drove this car throughout my high school adventure until electrical bugs caused me to park the car.  I always meant to get the car running again, but times got tough and I never got around to it.  Well, finally I have gotten time to play with the car again.

As I was looking at the car in my garage I thought about the pro's and con's about this car.  The car handles superbly, looks good and has a lot of sentimental value, unfortunatley, the car has no horsepower and the electrical system is a nightmare.

Then came the bad ideas of motors and transmission I could install into this car.  I decided that a japanese system would be the most reliable and affordable way to go.  I needed a drivetrain that was automatic and had potential.  The first idea was to put a Toyota Corolla GTS motor in the car. The problem with that is the difficulty of locating an automatic transmission to fit as well.  After lots of researching I decided that the next best option was a Mazda Miata drivetrain.  Mazda offered a Automatic transmission version throughout most of its production line.  I found a great deal on a wrecked 1994 automatic miata so the disassembly process began.

More to come...
